26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

— Matthew 26:26-28 (NIV)

Forgiveness—it is a topic I know so much about—from both sides. One can be forgiven without wanting forgiveness but to be complete, one must want and accept forgiveness. We are humbled when we learn to forgive others and when we want to be forgiven… Complete forgiveness comes about when we are truly sorry for what we have done and want to repair things that are broken because of our actions (or inactions). We can’t earn forgiveness just like we can’t earn grace. It’s what is in one’s heart—it is our attitude that counts. From God, forgiveness is a gift. Isn’t it wonderful? As humans, we are to emulate this extraordinary gift as we forgive others whether they want forgiveness or not. It is tough many times but it is worth it.

Give thanks and praise His Name 😀
