1 Do not envy the wicked,
do not desire their company;
2 for their hearts plot violence,
and their lips talk about making trouble.
3 By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
4 through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.
5 The wise prevail through great power,
and those who have knowledge muster their strength.
6 Surely you need guidance to wage war,
and victory is won through many advisers.
7 Wisdom is too high for fools;
in the assembly at the gate they must not open their mouths.
8 Whoever plots evil
will be known as a schemer.
9 The schemes of folly are sin,
and people detest a mocker.

Proverbs 24:1-9 (NIV)

9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and body with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish
and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones grow weak.
11 Because of all my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my neighbors
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
13 For I hear many whispering,
“Terror on every side!”
They conspire against me
and plot to take my life.

– Psalm 31:9-13 (NIV)

“Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress…” When we are at our lowest and feel that we have been forsaken, left behind, who is there for us? God! When we are in trouble we call out for God. When all seems to be lost God is there–or rather…He is here. Help me, God, for I need You! May we all need God.

May your day be so blessed!

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
2 Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me.
3 Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

– Psalm 31:1-5 (NIV)

“Into your hands I commit my spirit”…  Commitment. When we commit, promise, accept… do we fully give our all to God? Or, do we hold back? If we commit to anything, we bind ourselves to that commitment and we must honor it. Hopefully, it is to God and *OF* God. What do are you committed to? May it be OF God and FOR God but most importantly in all things it is TO God. 🙂

Have a most blessed day!

In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah:  “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.

Isaiah 38:1-6 (NIV)

Many years ago I believed that Hezekiah changed God’s heart so that he would have more time on this earth. Later, I saw that God was using this to strengthen Hezekiah for God’s Will. God didn’t need to be enlightened by Hezekiah’s beliefs or to know what was really on Hezekiah’s heart. God knew. God wasn’t changed but Hezekiah’s faith was strengthened. This same ribbon of God’s love is seen throughout the Bible. Just as Abraham was called to offer his son as a sacrifice, God didn’t need to know Abraham’s heart—Abraham did.

Trials are not there for God’s benefit but for our own. He knows what is on our hearts. He knows our minds. Was Hezekiah in his last days? I believe so if he had accepted Isaiah’s message but he knew he had more to do. He didn’t accept the news…he pushed on 🙂 . Isn’t this what God really calls us to do? To be prepared to leave this earth at any time but we are called to do His will until we go.

May your day be wonderful and bright and may you always have God at your back! 😀

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

I need your help if you would. I will be so grateful…

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  —  Matthew 7 (NIV)

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”  —  Matthew 18 (NIV)

There is a certain man whom I have asked to spend 5 minutes of his day each morning and 5 minutes each night praying. In each of his prayers I have asked him to find 5 things that he sees as blessings in his life. This is an attempt to get him back to the altar of God. Now, I can ask this of him until I am blue in the face. I can’t make him do anything he doesn’t want to do. However, I know that if this man opens his heart and turns it toward God, he will be redeemed and renewed. He has to have a true heart and he has to make time for this. It is a sacrifice. It is obedience not to me but to God. Can he do it? It is up to him.

I would like to ask you to pray every morning and every night if you will that this man will do this, for his protection, and for help to overcome his demons. I ask you to pray that this man’s heart be opened up to God. He is lost. He used to know right from wrong but he has forgotten what it is like to walk with God or as close as it gets in this world. This is for this man and his family particularly his children. He used to care so deeply for others that he was willing to give others the shirt from his back.

I have seen miracles happen so I know anything can happen provided it is God’s Will. Please pray that he opens his heart before God and receives HIM and then is protected to do His Will so that God will be glorified.

Belief —  Faith  — Prayer

Repeat until answered and thanksgiving when it is.

This is nothing short of a miracle. I feel compelled to ask this. Thank you! From the bottom of my heart—thank you!

This man is my husband. I know how far he has fallen.

May you be so very blessed–always and forever! 😀

Being a parent I have thrown all kinds of stuff at the wall hoping something will stick. If you have had children at the age of middle and high school, I’m pretty sure you know what this is like. The problem is that we really don’t know what will stay with them. When “learning” something for a test—often they don’t really learn it but just repeat the information and it is gone in a flash. I guess it is more like throwing it on the ceiling hoping it will stick but I will move back and stand far away because I am scared whatever it is…it just might fall. 😀

When we arrive at the church for Sunday worship I discover I have forgotten to bring my checkbook. My daughter asks me where my check is to put in the offering plate and I tell her I will have to take care of it later. She opens her wallet and there sits a single one dollar bill—no other money. I closely observe to see what she will do…will she say no and pass or will she quickly give it away?

wikipedia

Without hesitation she pulled the dollar bill out to add to the collection plate. It was so heart-warming! I have renewed faith in humanity—well, at least in my daughter. Something stuck! I don’t know if you understand the significance of this but I sure hope and pray it keeps on sticking…

This was what we used to call a Kodak moment but then it wasn’t. What we give should be very private, not because we think our gift is so small but we should give from the heart and not what gives us prestige or reward. I am still pinching myself. It isn’t the first time it has happened so you see this is very special. She didn’t have to do this–she wanted to do it. This is very important. We should give with a cheerful heart and this is a sign of a giver and not a taker. Oh, Praise God! 😀 😀 😀

Have a wonderful day and be so very blessed! 😀
