1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
2 Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me.
3 Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

– Psalm 31:1-5 (NIV)

“Into your hands I commit my spirit”…  Commitment. When we commit, promise, accept… do we fully give our all to God? Or, do we hold back? If we commit to anything, we bind ourselves to that commitment and we must honor it. Hopefully, it is to God and *OF* God. What do are you committed to? May it be OF God and FOR God but most importantly in all things it is TO God. 🙂

Have a most blessed day!

In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah:  “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.

Isaiah 38:1-6 (NIV)

Many years ago I believed that Hezekiah changed God’s heart so that he would have more time on this earth. Later, I saw that God was using this to strengthen Hezekiah for God’s Will. God didn’t need to be enlightened by Hezekiah’s beliefs or to know what was really on Hezekiah’s heart. God knew. God wasn’t changed but Hezekiah’s faith was strengthened. This same ribbon of God’s love is seen throughout the Bible. Just as Abraham was called to offer his son as a sacrifice, God didn’t need to know Abraham’s heart—Abraham did.

Trials are not there for God’s benefit but for our own. He knows what is on our hearts. He knows our minds. Was Hezekiah in his last days? I believe so if he had accepted Isaiah’s message but he knew he had more to do. He didn’t accept the news…he pushed on 🙂 . Isn’t this what God really calls us to do? To be prepared to leave this earth at any time but we are called to do His will until we go.

May your day be wonderful and bright and may you always have God at your back! 😀

Two Kinds of Wisdom

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.  —  James 3:13-18 (NIV)

And, they will know we are Christians by our love…to love whole-heartedly without reservation, full of peace and absence of malice, hate and jealously. May we set our goals high and always keep reaching! May your day be blessed and may you bless someone else’s day! 😀

  • Miracles… Do you believe? Do you believe God can perform miracles?
  • Miracles… Have you experienced one? Do you know what one looks like?
  • Miracles… If you saw one, would you know?

My personal belief is that miracles happen on this earth every single day and they don’t happen just to the chosen few or people who are born into exceptional situations. I believe that God has the power to give and to take away. I believe we limit His authority when we say we believe but don’t really.

Belief in miracles is a very touchy subject. Talking about it is sometimes difficult. And, the biggest culprit of that is because we see inequality. Take for instance the tragedy that happened in Connecticut a few weeks ago. People will ask, “Why didn’t God save this little children for surely they would be the apples of God’s eyes and if there was a God he would protect them.” God doesn’t work this way. As hard and difficult it is for me to say this, sometimes bad things happen, period, but often good things will be shown and God will be glorified not because of what happened but because of the love we have for each other and the love God has for us.

Our faith cannot be put into things of this world but must be turned to God alone. I cannot have faith that I will be healed by a miracle…I put faith and belief in God. If He wants me healed completely—His Will—then I believe it will happen.  That does not mean God wants something bad to happen to me or that He will not prevent things to happen. It means that I must trust in God and only He has the ability to change things.

We ask children to believe in Santa Claus. We even stage a Santa at the malls for children to go and visit, ask for things, and pose for a photo. I don’t know what you believe but I ask you to believe in something, to be passionate about it, and to seek the true meaning. I will not engage in confrontation if I can help it and that is a stark contrast from the way I used to be. I can only give examples of my faith and you make the choice. As stated previously, I believe we were not given a choice in the garden but stole that from God. Today, we choose to either follow Him or not to follow. Simple. You don’t have to believe but I can tell you that if you make a change to God, He will make a change in you!!!

Miracles… They exist because God exists. I believe!!!

In the past week I have spoken to many people who do not believe that there is a God of any type. I am not accustomed to speaking with so many unbelievers and nonbelievers. My witness is my faith, my life, and my spiritual wholeness. My witness is about the miracles that have occurred beginning with the ones that brought me into the world, and then the ones that have sustained me thus far AND finally, the miracles that have happened for my children.

I believe one must truly accept to believe but people will not allow themselves to accept because they do not want to believe. To know God is to experience God. This is my belief but it is echoed in John 8 beginning with verse 42:

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” – John 8:42-47 (NIV)

This is powerful scripture. It may not make sense the first 10-100 times you read it and only will you understand it when you are ready. God’s wisdom does not come until one is ready—prepared in the heart, mind, and soul.

Back to my witness… Not everyone has a multitude of miracles to share. We each have our way of reaching others. Sometimes my witness is not about the miracles but only about the love God has for us. It varies depending on the situation and the person. I am not a pushy witness. I believe in planting seeds and allowing them to find fertile soil in which to grow and germinate. Take care and may you find your way to witness that is pleasing in God’s eyes.

I need your help if you would. I will be so grateful…

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  —  Matthew 7 (NIV)

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”  —  Matthew 18 (NIV)

There is a certain man whom I have asked to spend 5 minutes of his day each morning and 5 minutes each night praying. In each of his prayers I have asked him to find 5 things that he sees as blessings in his life. This is an attempt to get him back to the altar of God. Now, I can ask this of him until I am blue in the face. I can’t make him do anything he doesn’t want to do. However, I know that if this man opens his heart and turns it toward God, he will be redeemed and renewed. He has to have a true heart and he has to make time for this. It is a sacrifice. It is obedience not to me but to God. Can he do it? It is up to him.

I would like to ask you to pray every morning and every night if you will that this man will do this, for his protection, and for help to overcome his demons. I ask you to pray that this man’s heart be opened up to God. He is lost. He used to know right from wrong but he has forgotten what it is like to walk with God or as close as it gets in this world. This is for this man and his family particularly his children. He used to care so deeply for others that he was willing to give others the shirt from his back.

I have seen miracles happen so I know anything can happen provided it is God’s Will. Please pray that he opens his heart before God and receives HIM and then is protected to do His Will so that God will be glorified.

Belief —  Faith  — Prayer

Repeat until answered and thanksgiving when it is.

This is nothing short of a miracle. I feel compelled to ask this. Thank you! From the bottom of my heart—thank you!

This man is my husband. I know how far he has fallen.

May you be so very blessed–always and forever! 😀

Some may ask, “Does God speak?” but that is not the question.

Some may say, “How do you know that God speaks?”

That’s not the question either.

The question is, “What does God say WHEN He speaks?”

Before the creation of this blog, God spoke. He said, “Feed my sheep.” Now, that’s not really off the wall and it is

wikipedia

not new. Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep—three times he told him. What does it mean in the Bible? And, does it mean the same today as it did 2000 years ago? These were my questions. I wanted to know what it all meant and if it was really God speaking. Yes, He was speaking and my answer was to follow my heart—that my heart would lead me to where I needed to go.

While I am still following my heart as I pursue my command, I don’t know where the journey will take me but I know where it will lead—the destination. I know it will lead to God as long as I do as I was commanded—as long as I follow my heart and trust in God completely. This doesn’t mean that I follow blindly or with emotion. It means that I take what I have learned for the past 46 years and apply it to life. It means the trials I have been going through for so many years will give me the solid platform to jump from.

Has God called you for something? Do you know what it means? Maybe it is that reoccurring nudge to help others… I don’t know but I know someone who does know. God calls us all. It is a matter of whether we are listening and if we choose to accept.

Listen. Discern. Accept. And, follow through. If you need to understand (and we all do)—read, and read, and read. Read the Bible like there is no tomorrow! Ready your heart!

9 “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 10 Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”  — 1 Chronicles 28:9-10 (NIV)

May God bless you always!
